My best friend lives in Denver, I'm in Phoenix, for me to go to her or her to visit me, once of us has to get on a plane. This time we decided to BOTH take the trip and meet somewhere neither of us had been before (or that was the plan until her work sent her there a month earlier - but it's cool she found a few of the good spots for us!) Anyway, I didn't know what to expect flying into New Orleans alone, renting a car and meeting my best friend there but I can honestly say it couldn't have gone better!
Our AirBNB felt just like home, barn doors, adorable mirrors and fiddle fig tree. all my signature design elements. | click here for a discount on your first stay with airBNB using my referral code.
the neighborhood was cute too. it was for sure hot and humid but it was totally bearable compared to the heat of the desert and my heated yoga. all the lush trees made up for it.
Since I'd never been to the south, really I wasn't sure if it would really be as charming as it appears to be. I've always loved the look of these homes, & they did not disappoint IRL.
apparently the mardi gras beads stay up in the trees year round here.
obsessed with the vines on this building.
a tiny piece of the Eiffel tower lives here.
//street car.
we went to brunch at Hivolt, I got the Brexit and Alex ordered the Good Morning Nam
super cute hipster coffee shop with all the right lighting.
next up was Magazine street.
so many cute window displays and artist boutiques.
Alex manifested this artist market just before we walked past the building.
"but where's an artist market?" she asked.
"here," the universe provide one.
walking back to our airBNB
but not before passing perfectly manicured lawns and flowering bushes.
along with a wild chicken who escaped her coop.
After a few minutes to recover from our morning walk, we set off to the French Quarter.
// found the House of Voodoo.
enjoyed the kids drumming in the street.
envied the architecture and wrought iron.
walked past a church.
found the Longway Tavern.
