Cedarwood Essential Oil Uses

Trying to get in the habit of sharing more of my favorite oils and their uses.  I'm pretty sure we're all aware we feel great and look better when we stick to our exercise routines, though sometimes they can be tiring or even dreadful if we're tired to begin with. With doTERRA's Cedarwood essential oil, you can add an extra boost of vitality and wellness to your entire workout. Before beginning, I've found it helpful to massage one to two drops onto my chest to maintain motivation throughout any workout.
Did you know that many people also use Cedar oil for skin due to its purifying abilities?
  • You can easily incorporate Cedarwood oil into your daily facial routine by simply adding one to two drops of Cedarwood oil to your facial toner or moisturizer for added clarifying properties.
  • The cleansing properties of Cedarwood oil can also help improve the appearance of skin imperfections. Cedarwood also has properties that help soothe the mind and body.
  • The warm, woody scent can create a calm, relaxing environment when used aromatically or topically. Diffusing Cedarwood oil in your home, office, or workspace can help promote feelings of confidence, self-esteem, and evoke feelings of wellness.

The use of cedar oil from different trees, and cedar wood in general has a long historical past. The cedar of Lebanon is thought to be one of the first essential oils extracted from nature. The Sumerians regarded the cedar tree to be the Tree of Life. Ancient tribes believed 'God' held the energy of the Cosmos in the cedar and that the wood was sacred, gifting those worthy with power, greatness, and immortality. The Egyptians incorporated it into their embalming rituals. The Phoenicians and Assyrians even used cedar to build fleets of ships.
Chemistry of Cedarwood Essential Oil
Main Chemical Components: α-cedrene, cedrol, thujosene
Cedar oil’s chemical makeup makes it effective at repelling insects, and it can be found in our bug repellant; Terrashield
We live in an area of Phoenix with lots of scorpions, so I use Cedarwood under bed frames, mattresses, window sills and doorways.
It's so great for skin, that it's also formulated into our favorite Neosporin replacement; Correct-X
