This past weekend we attended the Ropa de Relief Pancake Breakfast here in Phoenix. It was hosted at the monOrchid gallery in Downtown Phoenix and was benefiting the organization which helps provide education, shelter and medicine to developing countries. Their mission is simple, and they work with communities to develop relationships and focus on three main issues; building, educating and healing.
Here's the event...
Here's the event...
First let's start with the breakfast; I got Vegan pancakes {but shipped the vegan and real bacon and sasauge} but lots of fruit and a full short stack of pancakes did the trick.
Husband on the other hand opted for the bacon.
Sonja and I shared a big plate {as kids ate free}.
It was a great time spent with friends and to know we're supporting another friend doing something he feels passionately about it a wonderful experience.
MonOrchid is such a vibrant space, the whole gallery featured beautiful artwork and large sculptures, creating a unique experience.
You can keep up to date with their current projects here. I think that's really cool you can see exactly which causes you're supporting. Also Jillian {speaking in the photo above} guest posts on the blog and you can read about my friend, Josh's, experiences in Haiti and with Ropa de Relief on the blog.
Everyone received a free raffle ticket and could purchase more, there were door prizes and this amazing State Bicycle Co. bike to be won {below}
My friend J.P. and his girlfriend Ashley bought a few tickets for the bike and SHE WON!
Congrats Ashley it's the prettiest blue and white bike I've ever seen!
As you can see, Husband and Vera had a great time!
Don't worry if you missed the breakfast you can still contribute on their website and here's how you can help.
