Plastic Free July and our plastic free bath care routine.

I can't believe we're already over half way though July! I really love the recent campaigns for Plastic Free July I've been seeing and wanted to share our newest plastic free addition to our household.  Plaine Products!  So, technically, there is some plastic on the bottles for the pump, however this plastic is intended to be reused for many years unlike disposable plastics polluting our oceans and landfills.  As soon as I saw this brand I new I wanted to try out there stuff because it's so rare to find high quality ingredients and packaging that's environmentally friendly. These returnable, refillable aluminum bottles will not be ending up in a landfill or ocean, with prepaid return shipping on replacement orders there's no need to ever throw these bottles "away"

What are your favorite body care products that are environmentally friendly?

I rarely take time for myself and my "beauty routine"  I'm the kind of mom who barely makes time to shower, and since I'm mostly home and it seems like the cleaning never ends.  But lately I've been making an effort to de-stress and detox.  Baths are my new favorite.  I never used to like them, never make time for them.  Now, I make sure to detox with Epsom salt and essential oils practically daily.  I know how important it is to de-stress and care for ourselves but another big reason I rarely showered before was of my hair, it's thin.  Like really thin, and it looks dirty less than 24 hours after washing it. I read oil training was a thing and I need to space out my shampooing to slow down my oil production.  I read to using baking soda (don't, it makes your hair fall out!) and I've tried all the organic shampoos and conditioners out there. So when I saw this eco friendly package shampoo and conditioner I knew I wanted to try them, hoping they would be clarifying and hydrating.  I'm so happy Plaine Products sent me some to try out because I love them!  My hair feels clean and refreshed!  I usually have to add my own rosemary and tea tree to my shampoo to support healthy hair growth and scalp stimulation but  Plaine Products are already full of Rosemary, Mint and Vanilla and now, I don't have to do that anymore.
My kids are also obsessed with these kid friendly pumps because they can get it themselves and it's helped them transition to more independent bath time routines.  My kids are 6 and 4 so I still need to be nearby for bath time but they're starting to seek out that alone time and they look forward to taking care of themselves.  I really believe it's important for kids to feel empowered and responsible for their own self care and well being.  As a family of four we've been using these 16 ounce aluminum bottles and they've lasted just about two months (but keep in mind we don't wash our hair everyday).
And of course, I want the safest ingredients for my family, so it's important to note that Plaine Products are hypoallergenic, baby safe, color safe and biodegradable.  Their products are also cruelty free with no animal testing. Perfect for all hair types, especially for those with sensitive skin or scalp. And of course, no harmful chemicals; no PEG, PG, parabens, sulfates, dyes, synthetic fragrances or petrochemicals.

When you do order your Plaine Products let me know what you think! I'd love to hear your experiences as well.

Fine Print: This post was written in partnership with Plaine Products.  They sent me the shampoo, conditioner and body wash to try for free and you know I love sharing and supporting businesses that are environmentally conscious.  All opinions are mine and honest, I really do hope you love this product as much as I do.
