This past weekend I went to visit my sister in her new home in Oregon. Her brewery was celebrating their one year anniversary and we thought adding henna to the celebration would be a perfect fit. So I hopped on a flight to Boise, Idaho (because that's the most cost effective airport to fly into). Friday afternoon I arrived and we promptly googled where to eat. I found a Basque Market that sounded like it had a lot of potential, although I wasn't totally convinced of the Basque population in Idaho. But we went for it anyway and turns out there is a little Basque corner downtown with a museum and Restaurants so it was actually very proper Spanish tapas!
Manchego is my favorite Spanish Cheese. My plate.
We split a Sangria blended with a red wine float and fresh fruit..
isn't it adorable?!

After lunch we set back on the 2.5 hour drive to La Grande, it was pretty great actually because we were able to catch up on the drive and passed the time quickly.
After changing out of my airplane clothes and washing my hair we opted for a wine tasting at an adorable new bed and breakfast in town called the Landing featuring the adorable lounge; Wine Down. The wine tasting was $8 came with 4 samples of wine and small bites of cheese, olives and meats.
// Seriously. aren't the rooms and hotel adorable?! And I'm a sucker for anything with a porch.
Next time I think I'll try the Greek Goddess flatbread.
We opted for a side of fries to help soak up all the wine, but that flatbread, guys, I should have ordered it, I may have let myself down.
Walking back to her apartment we passed this mural so naturally I made her take my photo.
The next morning we woke up to make a veggie scramble and potatoes with our Bravas sauce we picked up at the Basque Market.
I actually didn't do any cooking but I did snap a few photos of the process.
yummmm just needs a little aioli and I'd be back in Espana.
Thanks Joe for cooking and Brit for the cold brew.
Bed for the night. But, also, my sister made this blanket. I told her to start selling them because it's BEAUTIFUL. raise your hand if you;d buy one. (but seriously message me because I want to support her new business - The Crochet Bee.)
And Finally for the party! Wrist bands and hand made, hand stamped drink tokens for Side A Brewing!
First patron of the night and we didn't want to cover up her over 21+ stamp.
This was a fun request for a shoulder design. And thankfully it stopped raining so people could take off their jackets!
the back.
I loved this custom request for a nearby mountain range.
I'm forever a fan of these open shoulder tees, they make henna work so much fun. // front.

And for the last designs of the night, one of the nicest customers from the event (they were all wonderful!) sent her sixteen year old daughter a photo and she drove over with her friend, just to get drawn on. I did a floral sleeve for her and a Moroccan inspired hand design for him. It was so much fun to work and collaborate with my sister! Hopefully I can make it back up there this summer for another event or concert!
The next morning we drove back to Boise to catch my flight but not before stopping at Meridian's Cinnaholic for breakfast.
I got one with coconuts and raspberries, my sister opted for the Idaho Spud with chocolate and coconut over a marshmallow frosting. And of course I couldn't leave without the vegan cookie dough. Even though airport security made me split it into three separate packages of to go containers to get though because of size and weight limits (worth it!)
goodbye cooler weather and snow capped mountains.
hello home, and heat and Grand Canyon curves.
